Driving test

Ok so I'm due my driving test next week and my anxiety is through the roof. I have no self confidence and I'm adamant I'm going to fail. I was the same with my theory test which i passed first time with just 2 driving lessons. I don't think I can handle a fail. My instructor said he wouldn't put me in for my test if I wasn't ready and the only person who has doubts about it is me and I'm going to end up talking myself out of passing. I'm just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on how to stay calm and give me a good idea of what it's like? Thanks x

Hope it went OK and if not I'd suggest you practice worst case scenario. you fail... Life goes on, your disappointed but it passes, you rebook and try again. When you rationalise all these scenarios and realise worse case really isn't that awful and your nerves are normal it's because you care and are human

I failed on the way back to test centre. I changed lane on a roundabout after he told me I went the wrong way. I panicked. If I didn't change lane I would have passed. So annoyed with myself.

I suffered terribly with nerves on my driving test. I was fine on lessons..and I'm fine now, but as soon as the guy (or woman) with the clipboard got in the car I went to pieces.

Took me six goes to pass. Sorry, not much help.

People I know swore by Kalms.

This was me as well! It took me several goes to pass. The things that helped me were Rescue Remedy and treating it more like a kind of audition where the objective was to act the part of a confident and experienced driver.

Are you with a big driving school? I learned with an independent SOM but they had 4 instructors. In the run up to my test one of the other instructors took me out in test conditions. It really helped with my nerves to sit with a stranger and get an idea of how a test would sound/go like.

Also - Take Kalms for a few days beforehand or some Bach Rescue Remedy

I am with a private instructor. It's just him and his wife who give the lessons. He is a great instructor with a high pass rate. I had a mock test and passed with flying colours. If I hadn't changed lane I would have passed with 6 minors. It was the lane change that did it. I'm booked in again for three weeks x
