So nearly 2 yrs ago I started driving lessons, at 42! I was very nervous. I took 2 tests which I failed on last year, I lost a lot of confidence after failing my 2nd test & pretty much gave up.
Fast forward 7 months & I've found a new instructor. I've been out about 4 times with him & he's very thorough, I do feel like I'm improving.
My test is in a few weeks, I've only got 1 more lesson before then so I suggested moving my test date back by a few weeks as I think I could do with some more lessons - he doesn't think so - he actually thinks I'm test ready, he says I'll pass it, no problem, I can do it, he wouldn't say so otherwise. But, when we've practiced any manoeuvres, he's always said he'd fail me on them? So that leads me to believe I'm not ready iuswim? Or am I just trying to delay the inevitable?!
I'm a dozy clutz at the best of times, I forget things so easily! I could kick myself for not learning at 17! But I was never encouraged to, more discouraged if anything. I wish it came more naturally to me but unfortunately it doesn't. I get nervous just before a lesson! I'm just doing it for the kids. I just want my licence, so I can get them out in the school holidays while dad's at work or if eldest is poorly at secondary school & needs picking up.
