Have you got either the Baby Dan HighChair or the Stokke Tripptrapp?

And would you recommend them? I'd like to get one or the other as our high chair is driving me mad atm. Good points/Bad points of each? Baby Dan is MUCH cheaper - is it rubbish quality?

i have the babydan and love it! only prob is the lack of tray but that was what we wanted so ds's can sit with us at the table. They are still using them and will do for a number of years as there is so much growth room in them. to be honest i wanted the tripp trapp but when we went to look at them i couldn't justify the extra cost as the babydan looks lovely!

We had the tripptrapp and loved it AND then sold it on ebay for almost it's cost new - we didn't need to justify it in the end!

No I don't have the Svan littlelapin!!! I've got a huge Mothercare one that I keep tripping over and can't clean! nearlythere - I don't want a tray either, so ds2 can sit at the table with us.

Recommend the Tripp Trapp. We have one each for dd and ds and envisage them using them for years to come. In fact I quite often use dd's because it really supports my lower back.

Really liked them as high chairs too. We had a tray which fixed on to the chair (which I think was made by another company) but also liked the fact that without the tray the chair could be pushed right up to the dining table - very inclusive for the lo. Really well-made and I like the style of them.

We have the Stokke one and I really like it because
ds eats at the table with us
it feels really stable
ds looks comfy (and i think they are designed to encourage good posture)
it will last til he's grown up
it looks good - blends in really well with all our furniture
easy to clean
I don't like it because
it cost a lot of money (but we put christmas pressie money towards it)

Yes, they are expensive (although cheaper here in Germany I think ) but you never need to buy a chair for your dc again. Well worth it for the quality imo.

Essentially they are the same design but the babydan is slightly more rounded and looks a bit less 'Stokke' Don't get me wrong i love stokke and have an xplory but i felt that the babydan fitted better with our furniture and i preferred the cushion designs

We have the Tripp Trapp and love it. My darling mum bought it for DS as soon as he was able to sit - he's still in it at almost three. I have a pal who has three boys in Tripp Trapps at nine, seven and four!

my lo isn't quite ready for a highchair yet, but have looked at both of these and thought they looked good. would they be suitable from the point she can sit up or better for a bigger toddler?

i personally dont think there is any differance in quality, i've had friends with the tripp trapp that have needed to replace it for various reasons (whilst i felt smug about being right!) But on the hole they are both designed in the same way to last and if they are looked after they will last for many years

I love our Tripp Trapps. We have three - for DD1 aged 6, DD2 4 and DS 2. We used them from six months and I think they are probably my best ever baby / child buy as we are still getting use out of them after such a long time.

I have the Tripp Trapp. Got it when DD was 5 months and it is still in almost daily use and she is 4y10m. I sometimes use it at the computer too, lol! It is solid wood and excellent quality and it looks good too. It is very easy to clean - ours still looks in very good condition. Because of it's design it is good for posture/backs too. And I live the fact that DD has always sat with us at the table to eat a family meal together, rather than being seperated with her own tray.

Definitely recommend the Tripp Trapp - one of our best buys.

Oh, and never had any problems with our Tripp Trapp being pushed over. Has been used by DD plus other little visitors and none have managed it at all.

mascarpone - we used the Tripp Trapp with DD from 5 months. We ordered it as soon as she could sit up (17 weeks) and used it as soon as it arrived. No problems at all.

Tripptrapp is good. Dd (6 and a half, regular size for age) is still using hers, just to be slightly raised seat at table; ds (nearly 8, huge) has no need of it for table so it's capably doing new duty as piano stool. Versatile and solid and still presentable after very heavy use.

Re solidity - they are not foldable, and can be heavy to move around. You also have to get used to not tripping over the bits of the supports that stick flat out backwards. Otherwise no disadvantages.

I got baby dan. very happy with it, it's done us 3 kids, and I use it too if there's battles over who's in which seat. I never bothered with the cushions, just more muck. easy to wipe down wood. I screwed 4 castors on the bottom of mine and it's fab for pushingin /out or generally whizzing around

we have 2 tripptrapps - they are fab
would like to buy one for dd3 when she is ready but having trouble justifying the cost.......
for all the reasons already stated!
