Well as I won the last game fairly and squarely Grin despite not being as quick as the old lags....I will start another game.

I know your game, and you are not as innocent as you would have us believe.

Alperton - and thunderings are undeclared, so watch your step!

Rail replacement rule comes into place as it is a weekend to get us out of the hole that the closed stations rule put us potentially into. Night Tube goes to Epping which helped no doubt.

Many congratulations on the intriguing and cryptic thread title, Brat.

You'll all understand why I'm doing this

No Maud - you turn 'em any damned colour you like.

Incidentally a certain radio programme is back for six episodes. I believe that Monday's may include the usual pale reflection of the Game of Games.

I'm going to have to play the rail replacement bus rule again and then the Elizabeth line rule, to get me to Canary Wharf. Which is a bit quiet on a Sunday morning.

Report
Andrewofgg · 20/11/2016 14:56

You want noise on a Sunday?

Westbourne Grove it is then.

Which reminds me - has anyone seen the Major recently?

Report
BratFarrarsPony · 20/11/2016 15:12

no the Major was last seen at Amsterdam train station waiting for the city night line to Munich, drinking Jagermeister. Apparently stealing that penguin from the zoo and taking it to the convent did not go down at all well with his superiors. He intends to make a new life in the Holy Land I believe, but first is going to that well known clinic in Munich to get rid of..you know what..

Not that Major. I'm thinking of the other one who so far as I know is still a she. I know she got away with that business at Llandrindod Wells - she knew all about the Town Clerk's nephew's little ways which were a bit much even for that neck of the woods - but I lost sight of her when she moved on to Taunton.

Report
ForalltheSaints · 20/11/2016 22:08

I thought I saw the Major when I was last in Amsterdam. I may have been mistaken given I was on platform 1 and the person concerned was on platform 9 or 10.

As for the person in Taunton, as we did not move there I feel I can move from Elephant and Castle to Lambeth North, using the temporarily closed stations rule.

Amsterdam? No wonder you're confused. Nothing and nobody are what they seem in Amsterdam, as the mother superior and keeper of antiquities discovered to their mutual cost.

For me, a favourite but still (I flatter myself) audacious move to

Heathrow Terminal 4

Report
Andrewofgg · 21/11/2016 17:19

The keeper of antiquities has apologised and explained that it looked like a jar of tartare sauce - even if it wasn't - and I think we should drop that subject.

Lewes - ha!

Oh, may I join in? Need a bit of distraction. Excellent to see some familiar faces on here.

I'm sorry but I do not and cannot recognise that last move. I'm playing strictly by Tenement rules (as per the 1993 handbook).

Chigwell. Start as I mean to go on.

Well as you all know Amsterdam and are not friends. So it wasn't me on the 8.54 to Bruxelles last Friday. It may have been my twin.
Soon be advent MC chums, first soirée of the season at the rear admirals for the traditional Cointreau and cheese straws before going to heckle the scrabble players at the Savoy.

Oxford Circus is not a problem if you have a firm grasp of Harwell's Theorem...

Yes, you heard right.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 21/11/2016 18:14

Hmm Sapphire you do know who you are addressing, don't you? I was writing the updates to Harwell's whilst being sacked from my first college. (And no one ever found the printing press)
Anyway, Mater has said get the charabanc booked for the 16th, despite last years' fiasco she is willing to let by gones be by gones and throw wide the doors of the hall. I have heard rumours that there are some well known figures from some of our pasts invited. Yes, Irene and Saints, them! All the usual fun and games, she's installing an ice rink in the courtyard, so start bulking up on dairy.
I'm playing a Very strict game tonight and refusing to stray from the metropolis, so Hop, skip and a jump to Marble Arch.

OhWhat I hope the Mater remembers to get the hedgehogs there this year - it's just not the same without them. Tell her I promise not to bring the box of Daz. It'll be one hell of a bash. Is the Chief Constable coming? In his uniform or . . . no, enough, Andrew.

Now, I can't resist a slightly malicious mpve so Ickenham it is!

Oh, that's a relief; I'd thought somebody was going to invoke Sterrington.

But as things stand , I can play a Downside Second to Stamford Brook and keep myself out of Knock.

Welcome, Sapphire. Something about your style of play - vigorous yet subtle - seems familiar. Didn't we meet in Malmo in '67? It was you, wasn't it, who won the quarter-final by playing a partial Podmore to Paddington while the pro-vice consul's back was turned?

As we're venturing into the deepest south, I will play

Beckenham Junction

Maud, I am loving the subtle adjustment to your moniker.

I think I can play Euston Square without it being a reverse shunt? If not, then I'm going to plump for Belsize Park and invoke Treadheim's.

Sorry, still a bit of a novice and sticking with the 1952 simplified rules.

Hello, LateDad. Don't worry - we were all novices once - but you may find it useful to read the '77 Almanac, as that contains some of the key strategems you're likely to see deployed here over the next few days, or at least until the Bakerloo line is out of stebbings.

For me now, the best option is probably

Russell Square
