What on earth are people doing at weekends?

Question - what do people do at weekends? We are a solid family of four with a nine year old boy and an eleven year old girl who find it hard to do things together as a family at weekends. It's seems the whole world are busy doing all sorts and having an amazing social life, seeing friends, etc but we don't have a massive social circle so I'm wondering how we can fill the time doing stuff together that all four of us can get involved in and feel that we've had a really good weekend. Is it just me or does everyone know what they're doing at the weekend by the time Tuesday comes around??

Homework/laundry/football/seeing friends - ours and kids/sleepovers/cleaning/athletics/DIY/sorting out stuff/paperwork...

There's always far too much to do!

We're members of things like the National Trust, so we'll often go and visit one of those places. We both work full time so weekends are precious family time for us - DD is still quite little though, so we don't have the homework issue yet! We like to go out for the whole of at least one of the weekend days,. Sometimes we invite friends to join us, but people are busy with their own thing so we often go it alone.

We go to the beach for walks in all weathers with the promise of chips and icecream. Buy a metal detector, they will spend hours trying to find anything.

Ds is 9, Dd is 6.

Football every Friday night and Sunday morning.

Other than that - park, homework, playing at home, board games, housework, occasionally visiting relatives, kids spend a lot of time playing outside, sometimes a day out to zoo or whatever.

Lie in, swimming, walk at beach, lazy dinner, movie night. Or occasional afternoon with friends and bbq.

Also we find time to do things separately- i'd not want to spend the whole weekend en famille. I usually go to the gym or a long cycle. Dh will potter at his hobby and kids will play out with friends.
