Doing a party for DSs 5th BD , first week in December. Entertainer, venue, decorations etc, booked.

Sent out 105 invites three weeks ago. Only 21 people have replied. One person saying they can't come.

What shall I do about the other people that hav'nt replied? Just accept they arnt coming and try to make the most of the 20 children that are there?

Im so disappointed.

All I wanted to do was to give my DS and his friends a lovely Christmas party evening. Sad

Well, both reception classes, Morning and Afternoon nursery. Friends and family.

I can tell you, my hand was KILLING after writing the invites out Grin

Fair enough! 20 is still plenty. Maybe scale it back a bit but that's still enough for it to be a great party. You'll get more replying next week and I imagine some will turn up even without replying.
Maybe people thought it must be an open door party given the venue and the numbers and the invitation was more advertising than something they needed to reply to?? Possibly!
Sounds like it will be lovely even with smaller numbers

Thankyou. I hope so, anybidy is welcome, I love children and I just want them all to have a great evening. I did write on the invites 'Please let me know either way so that I can sort numbers'.

Iv not got worried until now, I just asumed people were sorting arrangements out etc, and then would let me know, but a few days to go and it doesn't look good!

I would think you will get 40-50 easily - but ime getting folks to reply to invitations is like pulling teeth!

have you email addresses - that seems to get faster replies....

I wrote invites for Ds's party recently, but it was only once I'd sent an "evite" that I got most people to respond!

No, I didn't give a email out. I should have done. I'd have shown them my bare ARSE with my mobile number written on it if I knew I'd get just one more reply.
