Coventry - nice places nearby to live?

Hello
We have to relocate closer to Coventry. We ideally would like to be max 40minutes drive away from Coventry. Can anyone recommend any areas?
Or areas to avoid?
Thank you in advance :)

Leamington Spa?

I know people that commute from Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick too.

Kenilworth, Warwick and Leamington are indeed nice but expensive - depends on your budget. A bit down market but fine is Southam where property is much more affordable. Some of the environs of Rugby are nice.

Lots and lots of nice villages near all the areas already mentioned but again £££

If you go north of Coventry there are some lovely villages and small towns much cheaper than south Warwickshire- Atherstone, Fillongley, Furnace End, Nether Whitacre, Ansley etc.

Ah my old stomping ground. Coventry ring road.... once experienced never forgotten Grin

Lots of villages close by are lovely but having lived in both north and south Warwickshire I'd go for the south - Warwick itself is lovely and Stratford upon Avon too, but pricey.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Does anyone have any thoughts on Nuneaton/Hinckley? X

I worked with someone who loves life in Nuneaton, but that's about the only positive I've ever heard!
Kenilworth or Warwick, Hampton Magna, Wellesbourne.

Hi Op there are nice places surrounding those areas ....Burbage near Hinkley is nice as are surrounding villages....Atherstone is near Nuneaton and is quite nice a little more rural.

Do you want rural rural?

There are lots of nice villages-but a problem when bad weather to commute

I agree Kenilworh

Hatton,Balsall Common,Berkswell.....

The bigger places better for children and activities--look on the coventry/warwickshire MN local

Avoid hillfields and bell green like the plague!!!!
Nice areas in Cov are styvechale, cheylesmore, tile hill.
Lovely villages are stretton on dunsmore, long itchington, wouldn't live in ryton on dunsmore.
Southam is a nice market town.
Leamington and kenilworth are nice but you've got to spend the money. Don't do Sydenham in Leamington.
Rugby is nice.
I'd avoid Bedworth and Nuneaton personally.
Yes, go for south Warwickshire rather than north Smile
Are you after old or new build?
Lots of new builds going up in rugby.

There's some lovely new builds in bedworth and its brilliant for transport you can get straight on the motorway. There's some lovely parts of Nuneaton too. I'd avoid Coventry like the plague.

I moved to Hinckley from London 10 years ago. Not a bad place by any means but in a bit of a (80's) time warp when it comes to redevelopment. Though redevelopment on the cards in the next year or so.

Burbage is nice, as is Stoke Golding. Personally, I'd avoid Nuneaton at all costs if you have children as I wasn't enamoured by any schools (though some fare better than others) and would depend how much you were looking to spend on property in the locality.

Solihull very nice as are the surrounding areas, especially Knowl.
