dp is celebrating too - he's scottish! although he had to explain who the barbarians were to me!

He made me go to watch Munster and Biaritz at the millinium st in cardif the other weekend. Was bored to tears

nicnack2 Wed 31-May-06 22:36:38

gwt him to take you to a welsh v scotland game and you will look at rugby through new but possible tipsy eyes. those games are brillant regardless to whether you are a ruby fan or not.

Piffle Wed 31-May-06 22:37:54

ahhh a uk barbarians
hmmm well done you flowers

dewmeadow Wed 31-May-06 22:40:32

I love rugby. big strong men being manly (unlike wussy soccer players) IRELAND!!!!! (singing emoticon)

Piffle Wed 31-May-06 22:42:39

ireland until they get to NZ this week
Gonna get their lovely Celt asses Whipped by strong polynesian and maori thighs

nicnack2 Wed 31-May-06 22:44:07

mmm would love to be a physio

dewmeadow Wed 31-May-06 22:46:09

apart from the great men in green I LOVE the allblacks. But, like all irish supporters of any sport, we are eternally optimistic, and I totally believe we can do it - as long as they leave O Driscoll alone!!!

PanicPants Wed 31-May-06 22:47:09

Was moved by the atmosphere and the beer

Although have to say even though I was bored by the first half, I did begin to join in the shouting as the second half drew to a close...oh god I'm turning into a fan..

nicnack2 Wed 31-May-06 22:47:48

i think the irosh have a good chance. the home teams are slowly closing the gap on the southern hemisphere. [still celebrating scotlands trouncing of england this year]

nicnack2 Wed 31-May-06 22:48:38

it gets adictive panic

Piffle Wed 31-May-06 22:48:59

Tana will av HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FWIW I went to school with Tana Umagas sister Rita and she was one SERIOUSLY mean netballer
I also knnow several AB's from school and brotherly acquaintances
Hoor ray!
I'm sorry but Ireland (my 2nd team as dp is Irish as are my grandaparents) are going to get hammered - I fear even by a provincial team esp if the meet Canty Crusaders or Wgtn Hurricanes
Sorry am RUBGY nut

nicnack2 Wed 31-May-06 22:54:44

watch a fantastic AB match v scotland a few years ago. murryfield erupted not because scotland had scored but the smallest player for scotland had tackled jonah lomau (spelling?). it was a great match. give me rugby over footie[ducks low]anyday

nicnack2 Wed 31-May-06 22:56:21

had vow to thee my counntry at my wedding because the tune used for the world cup anthem

dewmeadow Thu 01-Jun-06 18:16:30

at last - other females who love rugby. It's SO superior to football, which can be boring and is played by girlies

nicnack2 Thu 01-Jun-06 21:12:27

second that dew meadow.

dewmeadow Thu 01-Jun-06 21:22:07

Remember when AB lost their botle in the last World Cup (because they truly are the best in the world) is it true the whole country was in mourning and people had to go into therapy?

nicnack2 Thu 01-Jun-06 21:25:20

yes. they are a fantastic team. Scotland is off to SA for two tests next week. Although they trashed the Baa-Baa i think next week will really show if they have improved under Frank Hadden.

dewmeadow Thu 01-Jun-06 21:29:38

Baa Baa?

nicnack2 Thu 01-Jun-06 21:30:25

barbarians. scotland was playing them last night

dewmeadow Thu 01-Jun-06 21:34:29

We dont have sky or digital and I would love it just for the sports , especially rugby and I love a bit of tennis.

WE (the IRish) have done well this year - Ireland, Munster, Ulster - Im still optimistic about our success

nicnack2 Thu 01-Jun-06 21:38:26

it annoys me that the non world cup or 6 nations are on sky. although we have it i think if it was on terristrial like the majority of football matches are more people would fal in love with the sacred game. My DH who << whispers>> is english thinks i am bonkers. he is not quite a rugby fan as me.
