Dd2 has become really clingy towards me lately. She will only go to dh when she wants to or when I am not around. If she is upset and dh picks her up to comfort her, she shrieks and struggles and holds her arms out to me, and gets so distressed he just gives up and hands her over. At first he used to laugh it off but I think it is really starting to upset him now. Has anyone else experienced this, or have any tips on how to handle it?

How old?

My have both gone through this, and dd2 is currently doing it, she is 21 months.

It is a phase and she will grow out of it but I know dh used to get upset as well.

My dd is 2 yrs and 2 months. I think dh is finding it hard as our other two children have always been besotted with him, climbing all over him and kissing him. It used to annoy me a bit, as I would look after them all day, then he'd come home and I was instantly forgotten!!

annoys me big time too

the other night, I was taking my make up off (for once, ha!) in the bathroom and dd2 started wailing.

dh went in to get her and she just bellowed noooooooooooooooooooo and MAMA MAMA MAMA so he tried to calm her and she got louder so her brought her in the bathroom and she hung onto my leg whilst I had water dripping down my face Angry.

Have no advice really, just hope it passes quickly.

xx

Bomper, it is just a phase. I would just go to her. My dd vaccillates between dh and me - each phase can last months! For a long time, it was dh, and now with a little one on the way, I am back in favour! Your dh should not take it personally.
