Recurrent dreams - how can I interperet one?

Anyone know anything about recurring dreams? I have had one for as long as I can remember where I watch an aeroplane in the sky and am filled with horror as it crashes. I am sure it must mean something as I have it so often.

Dreams to do with transport are often about your life journey.

Accidents or crashes on the journey might signify tough times, when everything seems to be crashing around you.

Recurring dreams are normal significant because they mean you are not dealing with the problem that your brain is trying to tackle.

Do you tend to find the dream happens when you are going through tough patches, or maybe even the complete opposite - during good times which you can't quite believe are going to last?

Either way you need to focus on what might be a reoccuring cause for concern in your life.

Now ask papillon - she is much better at this Smile

oooh ta. So you do think it has some sort of relevance then? It's not a nice dream and leaves me wondering why I keep having it. I am very happy now but also had the dream regularly when I was married to dh #1 who was a twat and made me very unhappy.

Dreams are just a way for your brain (psyche, whatever) to deal with stuff. Work over the problems of the day sort of thing.

It is more the fact that you remember certain dreams and not others that can be significant.

Try keeping a dream diary for awhile. Keep a notepad and pen next to the bed and as soon as you wake up, write down the first stuff that comes into your head. Do it every time you sleep if you can.
If you can, keep a casual day diary too. Just rough stuff about what is happening in your life, good/bad day type of thing.

After a couple of weeks compare the two. It can often be very revealing.

thanks SG, I'll try keeping a diary and dream log. I am sure my subconcious is trying to tell me something. How intriguing, I really want to know now.

hi gm, posts crossed. Does an airplane crash suggest something "out of my control"? Gosh, there is something a bit out of control as such if I am really honest with myself. Gawd, I think I might have an answer .... wow ...

It makes sense, it really does.
