I have alot on my mind atm.

I had an eptopic pg a couple of months ago (also had 2 mc last year)

I have glandular fever

My nan died this morning and I was only told she was very ill last night when it was too late to go visit and this morning when I phoned about going it was too late.

Im not sleeping very well at all and when I do sleep I have very strange dreams and wake up even more exhausted. I cant clear my mind, and if I dont learn how too im going to go mad!

Am seeing a counsellor on Fridays re the eptopic as it was very complicated and left me feeling quite upset and very ill.

Im short tempered with dh and the kids, the house is a mess and I would loev nothing more than to pack a bag and disappear for a while all on my own!

So someone tell me how you deal with stress!!!!

I run Tamba, but as you've got glandular fever that's not going to be an option. So no advice really but this will bump it for you at least.

You sound like you've had alot to deal with - I'm sorry Sad Don't worry about the house, sod the mess and when you've some time concentrate on yourself. Go out for a walk if you can manage it.

Hope the councillor can help.

Stress very difficult to deal with on your own. It shows itself in many ways and some ways we dont understand. Taking control helps my stress levels. If you can snatch sleep during the day if kids are at nursery/school then do so, cos this will help with your impatient levels and give you the energy to deal with the house. Do you like music or is there any kind of music from the past that makes you happy. Have it playing during the day at reasonable volume, this normally distracts me from current thoughts as I am too busy thinking what anyone song reminds me of. Keep your pecker up Smile

Im mainly managing to keep myself sort of level. I have a very good friend who nags me and makes sure i look after myself.

Its affecting how im looking after the boys though, i keep falling asleep and have no motivation. Had to force myself to take him to school yesterday cause I know if i give in and stay in bed its the start of a slippery slope

Get him to school and then you can sleep to your hearts content knowing he is safe and happy. Your lack of sleep will be the key that locks you into the unhappy room.

Tamba - could you have other medical stuff going on apart from the glandualar fever and after effects of the ectopic? As if that isn't enough. What about your thyroid?

Hiya :)

Am regretting posting this as I only usually post when the kids have stressed me out and not so much about peronal stuff Blush

anyhow,

My thyroid as far as I know is fine (would you be putting weight on if it was dodgy? Ive lost weight)

Sleep is still going terribly. Drifted of in the early hours but seems like ive just closed my eyes and im awake again. Its half term now so kids are at home all the time which im not looking foward too. Im lucky in a way cause dh lets me have time to myself when ever I want (and hes at home) but he goes onto nights soon.

I have a doctors appointment soon but dont really want to take pills to help me sleep so im not sure whether its worth mentioning it to her?

Drinking lots of diet coke atm cause it keeps my mind working although things just go in one ear and out the other. I havent even processed that my nan has died yet, its like my mind is too full iyswim, so I havent had any reaction at all to it.

doesn't diet coke have caffeine in? If so, I would stop all the caffeine stuff now because that doesn't help with the not sleeping.

When I had gland fever, I couldn't stop sleeping so I'm amazed that you are having problems! Have you got a regular bedtime (say 10pm) and a wind down routine? I know that sounds very child-like but it really can help if you have sleep problems. Have a warm milky drink about an hour before you would normally go to sleep. Make a conscious decision that you will have 10 minutes worrying and then after that, put your worries on a cloud to drift away. You can always come back and worry the next day if you feel the need!

I know that all sounds simplistic but it might be worth a try.

I also found that gland fever made my head feel very 'clouded' so it may be that is another reason why you are finding it hard to cope with your emotions

'pack a bag and disappear for a while all on my own! '

that's what I do! anyone you could stay with for a night, or pref anywhere you can go on your own? pref for 2 full nights so you can really relax a bit?

My dh meditates and gets a LOT out of it. He also spends every possible minute outside (just sitting, not necessarily doing loads of stuff) but we are lucky to have a quiet garden. Toddlers always seem calmer outside and so are most humans IMO.

With the gladular fever i get exhausted very quickly, and really really need to sleep but my mind wont let me and if the glandular fever wins and i fall asleep i have wierd dreams cause my minds still awake. I wish my body and mind would realise they are on the same side and stop fighting each other!!
