We made them in late 90s/00s too but never had a name for them, I still remember how to make them.

We called them snap dragons at my school.

We used to make them in the 60s and 70s (yes, I am that old). We called them Fortune Tellers.

I knew what I was going to see before I opened the link, but I'm afraid I can't quite remember what we called them, although I think Kato might be right with Fortune Teller.

DD calls hers a 'chatterbox'. They're 'cootie catchers' in the US.

what were these ruddy things called? My sister made one for my ds and her dd but we are both stumped about the name - if there ever was one...
