You're not allowed to hang your washing in your own garden or in the hotel grounds?

You have to figure out when the final rinse cycle is and do it then (the machine shouldn't lock like the front loading ones), or else just buy detergent with softener already added.
If you're using the dryer, a lot of people buy anti-static softener sheets (one brand is Bounce) which achieve much the same thing.
