dd 14 is going on a french exchange trip in a few weeks What on earth do I buy for her to give the host family as a gift.What is typically british?

We have a little place in the south and was invited to a new years day lunch in the village. We took stilton and that blue vein stuff (im not a cheesy person sorry) with a bottle of port and they havent stopped talking about the cheeses.

Jam might be nice as well? Whenever I did a German exchange that was what my hosts always asked for :)
