Try saying a few 'trigger' words and see if MI5, or SOCA as it's now known, beat down your door! Grin

More 'bomb', another word that begins with B and rhymes with 'mush', a country boardering Turkey that begins with I, a large factory on the Cumbrian coast who's effluence makes the local water taste funny and the men who work there sterile, and maybe throw in a few capital cities whilst you're at it?! Tamba - I'd be worried not that its tapped - you've been watching a few to many spy films! But when I lived in London it happened tome a lot and the phone occasionally would make funny chirrup noises or clicks when no-one was near it. Turns out some BT engineer guy had hitched something up to the phone cables and was making calls on mine and my neighbours lines - and they were getting charged to my bill. £170.00 in sex lines we got and they accused me of making them, then as most of them were made when I was at work they were insistent I mus thave a b/f who had a key or a cleaner etc. In the end they let it go and the truth was discovered.

Keep an eye on your bills!!

Tamba I can tell you absolutely and categorically that if it were an M15-type group there would be no telltale clicking. If anyone's interfering they are rank amateurs - which of course doesn't rule out your DH!!Grin

ours used to do do this and it was a local arsehole tapping into every phone call made in our area.not quite sure how he did it,but the police took a couple of computers out of his house and some gadget from his car.ours would click twice and that was when he had tapped in.if you waited longe enough,it sometimes would click again if hed got bored with the conversation and moved onto someone else.he got found out when he tapped into someones phone who was a bt engineer, and he reported it.
if you ring bt up they will do a line check but wont tell you if its tapped until he taps in IYSWIM.

Thats something to think about... It usually taps twic about 5 mins into the call. The phone was only reconnected last week as we got an absolutly huge phone bill, couldnt pay it and the line was cut off. DH went mad about me using the phone and to be fair I was on it quite a bit but our bills arnt itemised so I just accepted that it was me - now im thinking i should have checked! Will get BT to send itemised bills i think!

Gosh Tamba definately get itemised bills. I was amazed how much had been run up and how blase and eager to blame it all on me and some mythical boyfreid who must have been calling sex lines while I was at work. The cheek!!

Keep an eye on it, theres definately something fishy going on.

My mum's phone does this and we were only talking about it last night - it 'ticks' the whole time she's using it......worth reporting to BT?

Definately!! It took me ages to get it sorted. And even then it wasn't BT who told me what was going on but a freind who was in the police - I then discussed it with BT and they stopped harrassing me for the money they claimed I owed for these sex lines. They never did apologise mind you!

Mine does this too but only when I receive calls from Ireland, so I assumed it was Special Branch doing their anti-terrorist thing. Now I hear that the clicks would not be audible, I am intrigued to know why it happens. Unless it is Special Branch but they are doing it to intimidate?! One or two members of that family used to be politically active IYSWIM. Anyway, I'm sure the calls aren't very interesting - just the boring work/drudgery of housework tales and whining about sleepless nights, and no clicks in a while so I think they are giving themselves respite from the boring details of motherhood!

I hasten to add that it was never violence they were involved in (just Republican campaigning).
