Silly question but I don't want to be insensitive ...A friend of mine has just had a double mastectomy and is recovering in hospital. I'm seeing her husband briefly tomorrow so I dashed out to buy her some flowers..they were all droopy and ended up buying her a pile of magazines and a nice selection of dried fruit and nuts. Then drove home feeling bad, wondering whether she'd really like to be looking at the models in Red (the other mag is Woman+home)...

Am I being a bit overly paranoid here?

I think it is a great gift. She can eat the food, read the magazines and then leave them behind in the hospital for someone else to read and not have to worry about carrying them or flowers home.
