Steampunk's been around for years, overlapping with the goths.

Still plenty of goths about, plus all the little spooky kids!

'chavs, slags, hipsters, emo's
posh totties'

This is according to dd (15)

NB Please note SHE said chavs, not me, before I get a kicking

It did brighten my morning the other day to spot, for the first time in ages, a proper grebo, in cut off painted with a chapter's wings.

I know. Surely a punk is a punk. Anything elSe is braking the rules.

Report
pointydog · 14/01/2011 22:49

pseudo-victorian sci-fi punk.

Would you credit it.

I thought the moshers split into emos, goths and skaters in the end.

Report
pointydog · 14/01/2011 22:58

I live in a backwater. They are still called moshers here.

I agree OP. I was talking to DS no.1 tonight about his grandad being a Teddy Boy in the 50's and what he used to wear (not that I'm old enough to remember!). That got us all talking about the fact that everyone looks the same now; teenagers wear much the same as their mums and grandmas sometimes - which is pretty boring IMO.

I disagree that teenagers look like their mums and gradmas.

Cripes. Wjhere do you live? And wither the teenagers or the old folk are nutz.

Well, music isn't what it used to be is it, for a start? In my day, you couldn't listen to punk if you weren't a punk, etc etc. Now (and this isn't a bad thing at all!) you can listen to what you like. FFS. Even old hippies like me are allowed to say that Take That's new album is really alright if you like that sort of thing. When I was 15 I'd have stuck pins in my eyes before admitting that.
