notcitrus Fri 14-Jan-11 22:25:23

Steampunk's been around for years, overlapping with the goths.

Still plenty of goths about, plus all the little spooky kids!

sharbie Fri 14-Jan-11 22:25:37

i am willing to start a revival

'chavs, slags, hipsters, emo's
posh totties'

This is according to dd (15)

NB Please note SHE said chavs, not me, before I get a kicking

It did brighten my morning the other day to spot, for the first time in ages, a proper grebo, in cut off painted with a chapter's wings.

pointydog Fri 14-Jan-11 22:33:05

don't forget the moshers

And those metally guys with the hair and the black and the air of dirtiness will always be about

2shoes Fri 14-Jan-11 22:34:24

cornslik Fri 14-Jan-11 22:34:55

talking of goths, where is retiredgoth these days?

pointydog Fri 14-Jan-11 22:36:22

she's got the black slippers of retirement on

cornslik Fri 14-Jan-11 22:39:12

retiredgoth is a he isn't he?!

pointydog Fri 14-Jan-11 22:44:25

he put on the black slippers of retirement and had a sex change.

Which means I had no idea she was a man.

steam punk??

<adjusts pince nez>

cornslik Fri 14-Jan-11 22:47:13

I know. Surely a punk is a punk. Anything elSe is braking the rules.

pointydog Fri 14-Jan-11 22:49:30

pseudo-victorian sci-fi punk.

Would you credit it.

MrsChemist Fri 14-Jan-11 22:51:42

I thought the moshers split into emos, goths and skaters in the end.

pointydog Fri 14-Jan-11 22:58:46

I live in a backwater. They are still called moshers here.

MooMooFarm Fri 14-Jan-11 23:05:01

I agree OP. I was talking to DS no.1 tonight about his grandad being a Teddy Boy in the 50's and what he used to wear (not that I'm old enough to remember!). That got us all talking about the fact that everyone looks the same now; teenagers wear much the same as their mums and grandmas sometimes - which is pretty boring IMO.

usualsuspect Fri 14-Jan-11 23:06:06

Lots of goths and hipsters here

pointydog Fri 14-Jan-11 23:08:08

I disagree that teenagers look like their mums and gradmas.

Cripes. Wjhere do you live? And wither the teenagers or the old folk are nutz.
