What age is Hello Kitty aimed at?

For my birthday, a relative got me a Hello Kitty bag and purse. I am 25. When i had unwrapped it, they said "You do still like hello kitty don't you?" Well, what can you say? (i once bought a notebook when i was 15)

Any way, i was thinking about regifting it to my cousin who will be 11 in November. Would this be the right age?

Any other suggestions also appreciated smile

my dd 6 loves hello kitty but i have no idea what age its aimed at, she has clothes with hello kitty on. No help really from me.

In Japan, grown women adore Hello Kitty.

For all ages. Regifting it is a super idea as well.

my dd is 4 and loves it, so does her 10 yo cousin. Although it's the devil's work imo.

Yes, expat, the Japanese are deeply weird about HK.

I feel a bit of a bitch for wanting to give it away. I know that lots of grown people like cartoon characters, but i am not one of them. I also got some Little miss naughty bubble bath, wondering who i can give that to.....

DD1 is 11 and has quite a lot of Hello Kitty crap shite stuff. She went to school in a Hello Kitty top today I think. It's very popular here in France with all ages it would appear.

There is a Hello Kitty World/Land/Disneyland type place in Japan I believe.

my dd 5 told me yesterday that when I redecorate her bedroom she wants pink hello kitty wallpaper, a pink sofa and a pink laptop with internet access hmm grin

Pippel, my DD2 (aged nearly 5) informed me today that she wants a 'Sharpay' bedroom, as in her off High School Musical. <sigh> I'd rather Hello Kitty TBH!

And I thought it was only my DD1 who had Pat Butcher taste!

She wants 'ladybirds' as a decorative theme in the bedroom.

The problem is that she has to share with DD2, age 3, who wants all Dora the Explorer.

I was in H&M the other day and they had these tops with a giant Hello Kitty on them.

For grown women.

You can get Hello Kitty vibrators.

I don't get hello kitty, dd seems to adore her t-shirt, but is it themed from a program? or is it just vastly expensive branded picture?

BonsoirAnna Mon 07-Sep-09 13:48:38

My DD aged 4.10 loves Hello Kitty, and has done for about a year.

expatinscotland Mon 07-Sep-09 13:48:43

didn't you all watch Joanna Lumley last night in the first of her 'Catwoman' series?

hello kitty actually has its origins in the Asian 'lucky kitty' thing!

gawd, it's so tacky. it reminds me of those grown women who have cuddlies in their homes.
