Do you have lots of activities planned? Have you arranged playdates or do you just take each day as it comes?

I usually go overboard and have loads of activities planned but dd is really tired and needs a bit of a rest so just have activities booked for Monday and Wednesday atm. Will take the rest as it comes and hope the weather is going to be a bit better!

Can you tell us what the activities are, pinkteddy, might give us some inspiration?

Monday we are going to see 'the tiger that came to tea' at our local theatre. Wednesday we are going to an art and craft session with some friends. It is run by the local council called 'make a train'!

If you are looking for inspiration could try your local library for lists of half term activities or local leisure centre? Our local theatre always has something on in holidays but can be bit pricey if you're on a budget.

DS has recently had chickenpox followed by a cold so planning a quiet week. Soft play tomorrow and the pictures on friday to see the new Disney film are all the plans we have made - although never taken him to the cinema so hope he doesnt talk all the way through it like he does at home

I take it everyone else is just going to lock their child in a cupboard whilst they watch Jeremy Kyle

Cycle to library tomorrow pm unless weather is horrid.
Definitely swimming one afternoon and maybe two depending on how we feel.
Have bought some felt to make flower badges if weather is grim
Sorting out and tidying dd's room (generally throws up a selection of things that haven't risen to the top for a while)
Planning to invite a couple of dd's friends round but haven't made arrangements yet.
I suspect the week will go very fast, they usually do . . .

Taking her skating at least once (local place is doing a 'real ice' rink for half term). DH will take DD out somewhere at least a couple of days. Meet up with some pals one day.

Ought to take her swimming I suppose.

swimming, walks in park, make cakes, might go skating, chilling out, lot of cuddles and whatever we fancy, looking forward to some quality time together.

Also planning on doing some gardening - I've got some baby salads ready to transplant in the tunnel and hoping to get dd planting out and also doing some sowing but again only if not too freezing.

Mon: We have his music group as normal (replacement for the snow week), then in the afternoon home...

Tues: Taking him to see a friend with a baby, so will involve a playground trip in a different town and lunch out. Then home in pm as I have a workman coming...

Wed: Thinking soft play in morning, then pm going to a friend's to play...

Thur: Quiet morning at home then a friend coming to play in the afternoon

Fri: Nothing much, just meeting a friend of mine for coffee in the morning but that won't be wildly exciting for DS so maybe we'll do something in the afternoon.

Nothing exciting really, just low key and cheap!

All plans are conditional on the weather, but likely to include: day out by train, outing with grandparents, some gardening (possibly only my gardening while DD skulks inside with a DVD ), playdate with cousins.

If there are any gaps, we may go to the local museum or art gallery - both are likely to be bursting with school-age children!

Milk's older cousin is here for a week and then we are going to stay with her family for the week after!

Her cousin has been here for two days and it is so so lovely!

(We get two weeks half term where we live - sigh and grin!!!)

Our side (the city part) has/is going to be - a show, a restaurant or probably much more, some sight seeing, an art gallery, swimming and hopefully we will fit in an exhibition.

Her Mum's side (the countryside part) will be - lots of gardening, outdoor cooking, lots of free play in their big garden with dogs and brothers, dog walking, reading lots of stories and watching some cozy films by a roaring fire.

Ellabella - what are your plans?

I have an only child

One or possibly 2 days she is coming into work with me while I finish getting my new classroom ready. She will be doing some glass painting for my windows.

She is having a day at the leisure centre with a friend.

We have a baking day planned, as we are going point to point the following day and will need a picnic.

We are lucky enough to have some farmland and a woodland walk at the back of the house, we have spotted a heron at the back so we going to see if we can catch it on film. DD also loves to just run about on the fields, so I ca use that time to get my work done. Also will use our views to imrove our watercolour painting.

One day we are having a day out, was going to be Longleat but it is too expensive. So will have a look.

I also have some work to do on the garden which she will love to help with.

She will also have friends to play.

Had plans for every day: Monkey World with friends on Monday, music group as usual on Tuesday then playing in the park, family day out to Salisbury on Wed, friends round for lunch on Thursday, log walk with ither friends on Friday, Mum's day at a digital editing course on Saturday.

Monday didn't happen as friends double booked, Tuesday not looking likely as DD just spectacularly sick, ditto Wed.

See what happens, I suppose!

Kingston Maurward Animal Park has tiny piglets!

Softplay etc will be packed with (shudder) children during half term.

Watch brain shrivel.

Oh boo, RS, bad luck.

Today's plan of having lunch at a friend's house (friend has 4yo and 2yo, doesn't drive so we always go there, but take at least half lunch) has fallen through as friend's 4yo not well. So DD and I have done the grocery shopping that didn't get done at the weekend cos we stayed overnight with my DB and SIL. DD is not keen on grocery shopping, so had to bribe her (the 'nice supermarket', aka Waitrose, and a dodgy-looking green cupcake).

This afternoon - get dinner in slow cooker, and either make a cheesecake or go for coffee with friends.

Tomorrow - attempt to teach her to ride bike without stabilisers (her 'challenge' from school); hospital appointment (me).

Thursday - DH off work, but we haven't figured out what we're doing yet!

Friday - going to work, bah, DD spending day with grandparents.

Yesterday I'd planned to take her shopping for new school trousers and tights, and go out for lunch, we did that then went straight to impromptu tea and play with her nursery best friend. Good job, with today falling through. She hasn't expressed any great desire to see any friends, I'm not concerned though, I know she has friends, I think she's just glad to have a week off from some of them!

Smug mother of one here! My only is 13 and I haven't seen much of her so far! She's been off with her friends and popping in now and then, when she's hungry. I, on the other hand, being a school worker, have sat on my backside, doing me things!

We made a space rocket this afternoon. From a big cardboard box, cut out windows, letter box (!) and door, taped on some fins, made the top pointy, bolted on a card steering wheel and a door knob, taped on some tubes to run marbles down, painted it red & yellow and orange. Took up a good 2 hours of quality mum and boy time. Couldn't have done that with a smaller one crawling about.
I was working this am so boy with a friend.
