... He is 18mo and has been awake since 3am screaming generally because he doesn't want to be asleep Hmm
This isn't hugely unusual
He is an amazing lovely bright and gorgeous little boy but has always been an Awful sleeper and I can't think about having a brother or sister to him with the fear of sleep being the same again aswell as having a toddler to look after
So many people say ah but next one will be so much easier/sleepier/opposite etc but how dbthey know? They don't
It just makes me a bit sad that he won't have any siblings because I cant deal with the sleep it sounds so pathetic
Has anyone else been there?
What did you do?
If you had dc2 were they similar temperament?
Thanks

Hmmm....does he take a long nap? Maybe if you shorten it? White noise? Very dark room?

I'm sorry, it's so shit when you're tired. :(

I waited till dd was sleeping through. There's no rule they have to be close in age. Even if they were doesn't mean they would like each other or play together anyway ! They all sleep through eventually. I can't cope with sleepless nights either. My new baby is now 12 weeks old and gets up at 2am and 5am for good. No way would I do that with another child who didn't sleep !!!

Just to give you a ray of hope..... My dd1 was the same. Waking all hours. We cut out naps, didn't work. So we resigned to the fact that she isn't much of a sleeper.
She's 3 now, and sleeps through. Although, the odd night she wakes, and we don't know why
But, we have dd2, who's an absolute angel with sleep. Some nights sleeping 13 hours. She's 14 months now, and still has a morning and afternoon nap, and sleeps through 7 til 7.
All I'm saying is that the next one might be a great sleeper, so don't let that put you off.
