Tea Room 17 - The Tropical Beach Hut

Welcome to the 17th version of the Tea Room. We find ourselves on a tropical beach, with the tea room now in a beach hut on stilts, the waves lapping on the golden sands beneath. Palm trees surround us. Our virtual gardener/beach surfing dude/handyman, Mellors, is here to tend to your every need. He looks like the person of your dreams (male, female or otherwise ). There are of course holidaying Bishops and other leaders of faith, the Camels, the Bison, various guinea pigs, the tea room horses, a life-size cut out of George Clooney, the NMBs (please don't ask me to explain how Mohawk Babies joined us, and a wide variety of other virtual followers. We chat, we relax, we share how life is. All in need of friendship are most welcome. The kettle is on...and the distressed chintz sofa has of course made the journey over. Enjoy.

Oo, first in after Amber - can I grab Mellors for an all-over body rub?

Supposing he doesn't want an all-over body rub?

I'm sorry, amber, you're having a rough time of it all.

Scout, yup.

The whisky is gone!

This is odd. It was here a minute ago. Mary, what have you been using to do that body massage with?!

CMOT -- I've sent you an email.

Is it too early to get out the disco ball? (Assuming, of course, it made the move with us?)

Disco ball is hung on that rafter, pin spots hung on that other rafter and focused on mirror ball, they are low energy LED pin spots with a colour change program activated by that button there if you feel the need to be mesmerised by swirly changing coloured dots of light.

Evening all, nice place Amber. Mary what exactly did you rub Mellors with? the NMBs have all fallen over thanks to teh fumes. , oh, except that one, he's still gamely wafting the fan with a teeny tiny peg on his nose wearing a temperance T-shirt and teeny tiny loin cloth.

MT- have to LOL very quietly at Mistlechicks comment, the other 5 yr old boy in boys life ( his BEST mate) was being most revolting today, stroppy, shrieky, pushing boy and walloping his mother. That over however we had a nice afternoon with them at work sports day with both boys co-operating on the treasure hunt and the obstacle race.

I wonder if the reception year is tough one for boys all that learning drives civilisation out of them maybe.

Here

It's lovely in here - I like Mellors hawaiian shirt. Having watched Dr No on the plane, I am having visions of Mellors as the young Sean Connelly dressed for that

Oohhh, little parasols!

(It takes so little to excite me!)

I have found BabyScout's BearSuit in his new size! Am overly excited about that, too. HubbyScout is laughing at me. Though HubbyScout bought BabyScout hiking shoes for him to grow into because they were 70% off and he seemed pleased about them. I think he really wishes BabyScout could wear them next month when we go camping! They are really cute (so tiny!). Will have to try them on BabyScout tomorrow on the off chance that he can wear them next month.

No, no, no, Cmot. It is a truth universally acknowledged that Mellors looks like Daniel Craig in Casino Royale.

Scout - The gist of my lost post is that the Brownies loved the Smores, but I need to refine my marshmallow roasting technique.

Perhaps I could give Mellors a massage once Mary has finished?

Phhwwwwhhhhoooorrrr dear me, I have come over all unreasonable all of a sudden.

A tealight is very suitable for marshmallow toasting on account of the low heat levels. And ROcky Mountain marshmallows are this households preferred brand - much better than any others around.

We (as in me and assorted colleagues) went to a fondue restaurant this week - the blokes were sceptical at first (we have to cook our own food ?) but got really into it - the boiling oil and stock add a certain danger element. It was a good laugh, and now I wonder if I should get out the fondue pot ?

I found even more (REAL) s'more making supplies yesterday so now have enough for about three sandwiches per person at camp. Bring on the upset bellies!

Oh, yes, my girls have toasted marshmallows and made popcorn over tealights. It's very funny to watch them go "this isn't working... it isn't working... it's just not working... Mmmm, YUMMY!"

Right, I think it's bedtime. Can I take one of the palm fans with me?

A fondue? Will that take you into Abigail's Party territory, Cmot?
