Just wanted people's opinions on this.

Went to see a nursery today for DD to start when she turns 3 (a state nursery. She has possible ASD and various special needs.

On way in I noticed nettles in the garden, and wondered a bit about them.

The staff I met at nursery were nice and DD loved all the activities so I think she would be happy there.

However while i was talking to the manager a little girl was brought in crying as she had stung herself on the nettles.

I know kids could see nettles in park etc and can usually learn to avoid them after a while (although DD would not easily learn this) but I just felt WHY have they not tried to get rid of them.

I suppose I am worried its a sign that they aren't that careful about the children's welfare.

But am I being too precious??

WWYD?

They said that the granddad of one of the kids helps with the garden as he lives next door, so i am not sure if they are maybe short of funding for a gardener?

Bit odd.

I'm all for encouraging wildlife ... but I would have thought if they were supposed to be there then they should be fenced off properly.
