How much is the "free" place worth?

Does anyone know how much the funded places for three year olds totals in one year? We are trying to work out our monthly nursery fees. DD is entitled to the full amount but I understand that for private nurseries this is taken as a lump sum.
Am I making any sense??

You get it for the time they would be in school nursery, and it is paid in terms. It starts in the term after they are three, so if a Feb birthday, then it would be from the summer term, if you see what I mean. You get it for 38 or 39 weeks of the year, and I know that my old nursery got it paid as a lump sum, which they gave to me as a cheque, but some take it off your monthly bill - that bit is worth checking. As to how much it is, it should be 5 days of 2.5 hours, so it will depend upon what your nursery charges per hour. I got over £400 for DD (3 years ago, and the daily rate was £25), to give you some idea. We used if to fund a weekend break!!!!

Thanks. I know that our nursery tell us the figure that the vouchers total for the year, and then they take it off our monthly bill. The figure is based on how much 2.5 hours would lost in a state school but I can't find out how much that works out at!
