Do most day nurseries insist on at least 2 half day sessions a week?

We're just starting to investigate daycare options for LO. I've spoken to several day nurseries who all say we have to have at least two half day sessions a week. We were only planning on one morning or afternoon though. Do most nurseries insist on two?

You will probably find most will want at least 2 sessions as generally they find that one session is not enough for the child to settle in, so upset all round.

Our nursery is the same

One half day a week means that the child is just getting used to it, when its time to go home again - and a week later its all very strange again.

From seeing children at DS's nursery I'd say 2 half days a week is the absolute minimum that is fair on the child

Most around here insist on 3 sessions as a minimum for the reasons cmotdibbler gives.
