Am looking for a nursery in Sw19/wimbledon area - anyone any recommendations? I looked at Eveline (quicks Road) and Asquith(raynes Park) while pregnant and they looked ok (had checked out the Ofsted reports) but I don't think I knew what to look for. Hoping for a place August/Septemeber onwards have I left it too late???
thx

I can heartily recommend the Castle Kindergarten in Henfield Road - both my boys went there and it was lovely. (But as they are 15 and 12, obviously that was some time ago!)

Do you live in the borough of Merton? If so, did you realise that all primary schools have nurseries attached to them? We didn't realise this so ended up going down the expensive, private nursery bit (although we had realised by the time ds2 came along, we still sent him to the Castle as ds1 had enjoyed it and done so well there).

Pelham School (Southey Road) is lovely.

Good luck!

Hi, I also live in Merton. Sorry to jump in on OP but could I just ask ... when you say all primary schools have a nursery attached, would that be for 3 years and over?

I've been looking around at nurseries in Sw19 but no luck yet. I saw Crown Kindergartens but really didn't come away feeling sure about it.

Many thanks for any advice you can give!

DD goes to the Raynes Park branch of Eveline and I would recommend it. I ahvent visited the Quicks Rd branch but if its anything like the Raynes Park one its good. I have heard goos things about Building blocks as well.

have you tried Dicky Birds or Playdays? Playdays has two branches, one on Queens Rd and one on the Hill - they are Montesorri based. I know of at least one mum who used them and was happy. Dicky Birds is right next to the station so very convenient, a few mums I know have used this one without problems but not for full-time care. You may be a bit late depending on the age you want (places for babies are tricky), but best to act now rather than later!
