Sending you child into childcare this week?

Hello all,

Another thread about Coronavirus here....I'm just wondering is everyone still sending in their children to nursery this week? I'm feeling a bit anxious about everything (also 30 weeks pregnant) and I'm not sure what to do! I'm at home, and my other half is working from home so we are able to look after our son at home if we keep him at home! But then, are we over reacting by keeping him off? Ahhh...Smile

Yes I will be sending to school and nursery until official guidelines otherwise.

I'm not sending mine in, she only does one day and they're pretty good at sending kids home if needed but it's easier to keep her at home especially as my partner doesn't work during the day so it isn't a necessity.
I work in a nursery and I'm not expecting it to be very busy at all, probably won't work my full hours this week which is a pain in some ways but all the children are picking up on stressed parents at the moment so playing up. I'll be washing my hands regularly as I have been for the last few weeks, getting changed as soon as I come in and probably having a shower too and my clothes will be washed every day.

My baby is due to start in April - I'm calling the nursery tomorrow to delay his start date. I think they'll likely be closed soon anyway

Yes I’m sending mine in. Self isolating now is pointless unless you’re prepared to stay home for a month +. Our nursery is putting in procedures to try and help, drop offs at the door, random temperature checks etc. I’m happy for my LO to keep going in until measures change.

No I'm not but my DD has been suffering with a cold and I want her to recover and not spread it too.

Yes I'm sending DS to nursery until it closes (or one of us gets symptoms in which case we will obviously self isolate).
I am dreading having to keep him entertained 7 days a week when nursery closes and all the playgroups stop!

I’ll be sending mine in until told otherwise

Yes I’m sending him. The worst that can happen is he brings it home, and I work for the NHS so am just as likely to catch it at work.

I work in a nursery and we're open so it's business as usual. I don't expect any of our parents to keep their children off.

We are isolating at the moment, but otherwise I would. CM only has one other child, and has emailed to say instead of the usual baby groups they often go to will be doing outdoor activities in the garden (weather permitting) or crafts etc in the house. More than happy with that at the moment.

We’re getting the same number of children as usual at the moment.
