Chances are he is absolutely fine once you have left..
So not to drip feed:
- DS started nursery Nov 17
- I'm 35 weeks pregnant
- Experiencing some 'clingyness' at home
DS has just moved up a room, he has gone from a 8-10ish room at the back of the nursery, to a nearly 15ish child room at the front of the nursery (can see us leave and arrive through a window).
He moved up with 4 friends from his old room. However, he is the youngest in the room by a month or so, and has moved up early as we felt moving at the same time baby is due would be too much.
He has become extremely emotional at drop off, and is crying again when we collect him if we don't get to the room quick enough, after him seeing us through the window.
He is vocal, and says he doesn't want to go to that room, doesn't like it in there etc. But can't articulate why yet. We have turned up and random times and tried to get in without him seeing us and he is playing absolutely fine. We call up and are reassured by the nursery he is fine.
At the moment, I try not to linger, I walk him in so I'm not holding him and keep it cheerful, but he attaches himself to me and has to be peeled off.
Anyway, I have asked for a meeting with his room leader, to try and come up with some ways to help him become more content at drop off, and wondered if anyone had any ideas we could try?
