Ofsted failed to keep my child safe. Here’s my story please read for the benefit of your child’s safety. My child had a number of injuries in a very short space of time at her nursery. Amongst other cruel taunts that my child had suffered at the hands of these moronic nursery staff, they lied about the injuries and never recorded them.
Evidence of this was given to ofsted and this was their response. They did not deem it necessary to carry out an inspection as they had recently done one, they said there was “no value in it”, because my child had not received “medical attention”. If your child attends this nursery Ofsted have kept it from you, as there is no mention of my complaint on their website. I was told by ofsteds complaints team that it is not their job to investigate whether the nursery had lied about these allegations (this I found alarming – not investigate injuries to a child).
Finally the police got to the truth that the nursery staff had lied about knowledge of injuries and lack of record keeping, as well as uncovering the lies from the nursery’s own internal investigation. In my opinion Ofsted did not keep my child safe and if your child attends this nursery they haven’t kept your child safe either. Social services were aware and did nothing (not surprising, by the reports in the media). Ofsted’s safeguarding policy meant nothing, just words on paper as far as my child was concerned. Ofsted did not care about what happened to my child that was apparent, so parents I say don’t let your child become a statistic go higher complain to your local MP, hey why not write to Tereasa May, at least someone may audit her work so us hard working parents voices might be heard. Also remember the staff in these nurseries are strangers looking after your child and they are not governed by anyone as I have found out through this horrendous ordeal my child and family have been through! I also find it absurd that OFSTED don’t investigate some safeguarding incidents. Especially under the premise it’s “isolated”.
My ds had a knife pulled on him in a classroom. This child had been bullying my ds and schools response was suggest a managed move 
When ds asked advice on taking his own life the school didn’t provide support and changed their story twice.
So this isolated incident isn’t worth investigating.
Then everyone’s up in arms when the next one results in hospital treatment or death 
I will add ofsted took a copy of original email saying ds had knife pulled on him - and it’ll come up on next inspection
