Concern over nursery

My 3 year old granddaughter has come home saying the male volunteer helper lets him "stroke his stitches but don't worry as were very gentle so it doesn't hurt him" I asked her who else strokes them and she said "all us kids" I asked her if her key worker stroked them (who is the mother of the male volunteer) and she said "no cause she's a teacher". I emailed the lady who runs the playschool with above and she told my daughter this morning that shed asked the volunteer about it and he said he had showed them all where he had a wart removed from his back but they couldn't touch it because it was too painful. She also said they had been reading a book about spot the dog and some stitches. She has not made anymore of it and sounds like as far as she is concerned the matter is closed. Surely there should be a proper procedure to be followed in instances such as this? I've just spoken to our local council asking for advice and someone is calling me back. Am I overreacting, should we send her to playschool next week if he's still there - gut feeling is no and what about the other kids? It is a very small set up in a small village and I don't want to start a load of gossip but at the same time don't want to not speak out just in case. Opinions/advice please x

The fact that he's male is probably irrelevant and I suspect he was just using his stitches as a real life learning opportunity for the children.

If you think it's anything other than that, then speak to them again.

He had a sore back. He told the children to be careful and told them why. The children were interested and he explained further and he demonstrated it didn't really hurt. And now you think he should never be allowed to work with children ever again and he should be labelled a paedophile and hounded out the village by you and your friends wielding pitchforks, rakes and flaming torches.

Seems fine to me.

I feel you may be/have already overreacted. This is something that appears to have happened in public surrounded by lots of children and adults. All he seems to have done is show them his back and explained what he had done and why they need to be careful with it.
I'm not entirely sure what you see as the problem here. On the surface this all seems very innocent. Are there other reasons for you to be concerned about the care she is receiving? It not i feel this is a rather odd reaction to this situation.

I'm not sure entirely what your concern is either? It does sound quite innocent to me too.
