I haven't had this situation with an older child like your's but when DD started nursery at 12 months she cried a lot for the first month then loved it and now is 2.6 can't get enough of it. But I might be slightly worried if that staff couldn't console or district a two year old. Does she cry for long periods at home? Don't think DD has cried consistently for more than 5 minutes since she was a baby. If your's is the same I would perhaps be concerned. What are they trying?

Is she there because you you're at work?

It will just take longer as she is doing only 2 half days a week. She may have been there 3 weeks but it's still only early days for her compared to a full time child who will have had 15 days there- she has only had 3.
Don't beat your self up- just give it some time and remember to be really positive about nursery to her and don't let her know you are anxious. Children often pick up on how the adult is feeling and if she ses you are worried or upset it will make her worse as it validates her anxieties.
Has she taken a comforter in, something from home, like a favourite toy or an item of your clothing, like a scarf?

thank you for your replies !!! we hav been to see another nursery today and have said to take her in for short visits no obligation !! staff there were more friendly and sounded more concerned for DD well being. i know its early days but when u get a bad vibe about a place!!!! also just found out they been down graded with the recent ofsted report!!! will see how DD gets on with a longer settling in period at new nursery with good vibes !!!!! p.s. she doesnt cry at home for long preiods. takes comforter with her and i dont go to work so was supposed to be just a social thing for her !!!!
