Nurseries

Allowed to go in to nursery and do an activity - but what to do?!

Hi all, thanks for reading this. I'm stumped and it's so unlike me. I'd love to go into my 3-year-old daughter's nursery and lead an activity, an offer extended to all parents by the nursery. It can be anything (within normal nursery reason). I'm good at creative work. I'd be interested in doing something food based. I think they said we could make biscuits but I'm not sure, could we really can use an oven (guess I should be asking them that one). I'd have to fund the costs, would be 12-24 children... has anyone done this? I wish I could play piano or an instrument, but no, and I don't feel I have the skills to teach anything, ie French or, well what can 3-4 year olds do, do you think?!! I feel it should be something a bit different from what the excellent, capable teachers organise. So, anything Christmassy, a decoration for the tree/something to leave out for Santa? All advice appreciated. I want to give something back to this excellent nursery.
Thanks very much.
(I need a nickname!)

Cooking is always fun. If there's no access to an oven, make something like rocky road, or chocolate crispy cakes.

Or you could just buy cakes or biscuits and get the kids to decorate them. - get lots of sparkly stuff, writing icing etc and let them run wild.

Window biscuits! Use a roll out biscuit recipe and cut out Christmas shapes. Then use a small cutter to cut out little holes from the biscuits. Pop in a few cheap boiled sweets in the holes. The biscuits will cook and the sweets will melt to fill the holes.
You can do the same thing with a salt dough recipe to make decorations.

I agree, pre make ginger bread stars at home ( quite large ) and get them to decorate them . Messy but fun .

How about making some reindeer food?
You need a big bowl, some porridge oats, some edible glitter and some cellophane for wrapping in. Or plastic sandwich bags
The children can pour and stir. You can print a poem from the internet and attach it to each bag with some christmassy string

Thank you! Sorry for my delay. I'm doing both biscuits and reindeer food, with the help of another mum, this wk. Can't wait!
