Does anybody know what should be the sleeping pattern at nursery for a 9mo? My baby is very cranky when he comes back from nursery only with 1hour 40 min sleep. Shd they still be sleeping twice a day, for 2-3hrs?

Def twice at 9 months. Not many babies on average would cope with just one nap a day.

Most babies would still need 2 x naps but not all. Have they said you can't do this, have they tried but baby won't sleep? How long has your baby been at nursery? It can take a while to settle down.

Ds never had those kind of naps. Maybe nursery is pretty exciting & she doesn't want to miss out.

My Ds went to nursery at 9 mths and always had 2 naps at home - mid morning and mid afternoon. The nursery did put him down at the times i asked them too but he would never sleep in the morning and his other sleep to start with would be short so he would be knackered. Eventually they just put him down after lunch- this is when most of the babies sleep so it was quiet whilst at the other times there would be noise/ too much going on. I just accepted he was tired after nursery and put him to bed in the evening earlier. As them to put him down at the times he has a home (or as near) but you may have to accept his sleep pattern at nursery will be different.

I just accepted the one nap as well. My 16mo still has two naps at home, but only one at nursery. I bet it's because it's such a happening place they don't want to miss out. It will get better when they get older.

They tried to put him down again in the afternoon, seems like he is less grumpy...though he is waking up more at night...Sad

Ds has never been a big sleeper but perhaps even more so once at nursery. It has taken almost 2 months now & he is sleeping better at night. He doesn't go to sleep until 9-10 though. I only allow one nap for an hour as he sleeps in the car both ways. Good luck,it's bloody exhausting Thanks

i dont think there should be a sleeping pattern at nursery for 9 months - the nursery my children attended at that age allowed them to sleep whenever i said i wanted them to or whenever they needed it.
It was around the age of 2 ish that they moved to a room which had a set rest time after lunch
If you child needs more sleep speak with the nursery and get them to accomodate this - however, do what your child needs rather than what you think you should be doing
