Babies: The Mumsnet Guide - your road map to the wonderful (but sleep-deprived) world of the new parent
I have to arrange a sports day for the baby room in our nursery. I would really appreciate some ideas for activities for the under 2s. Obviously, they just need to be fun, not too challenging, and something easy to set up and clear up at the end.thanks
Oooh that sounds odd, we did a sponsered relay race for over 2's last year, and that was hard enough.Could you do throwing a bean bag towards a carer/hoop/basketJumping between very close together matsFor walkers you could do something with balancing beams
Walk balancing something on their heads.Wear a bucket type thing on their heads and they have to put as many foam balls in in a minute.Transferring items from one bucket to another across the room.Have fun!
I think under 2's would struggle with balancing things on their heads, or putting buckets on their heads. Hats are hard enough to keep on.Have you got any tunnels? Maybe they could crawl through a tunnel?I mention bean bags earlier, i meant the small ones that are easy to throw, however if you have any large ones maybe they could jump on them or something.
We do lots of running, they love thise thr best but we also do Holding hands in pairs race, potato and spoon race, dressing up and running race, piggyback on parents race. have fun
Thanks, loads of great ideas, you have inspired me.
