Newbie with 9 week old baby screaming in the car

Hello! I was going to start with HELP!! But I thought it would be polite to say hi first. So now I've said hi...
HELP!!!!!
Please please please can anyone who has experienced their baby going bat shit crazy in their car seat and found a solution, please tell me what it was. My little girl has been getting worse since day 1 to the point she cries the minute she is in the car seat until I get her out and calm her down. I've tried hanging toys, singing, radio inc classic fm, white noise, talking to her (I doubt she can hear me over the screaming), and removing the inner part of the car seat as she seemed a bit squashed in. I make sure she's not too hot or too cold and ensure she is fed before we leave. The only thing that stops is when she comms out from screaming which is usually after about 20 minutes, by which time I feel like my head is going to explode. I also have a 3.5yr old son who now doesn't want to sit with DD in the car :(.
Any advice would be most welcomed. Oh, and I know public transport and walking are options but i would ideally like to transport 2 kids by car.
