Hi, I’m new here. I’m 43, have 2 older children that I had in my early 20’s from previous marriage. After years of domestic abuse I finally managed to break free. I didn’t ever think I’d get a second chance in life but met a wonderful caring man. Married nearly 5yrs now n have been ttc 4 yrs. Apart from my Coeliac n under active thyroid my age is against me- we were blessed with a short lived pregnancy, just days before my 12 wk scan I had some light spotting then followed by lower dull back pain to finally miscarriage. It’s CD3 since our loss, desperately ttc again. Is it true that women r more fertile after a miscarriage? What can I do to increase my chances of getting pregnant again. Sorry For the long post! Seeking tips n advice, thanks in advance 😊

sorry about your miscarriage OP.

Purely anecdotally my sister (a midwife) told me that she thought women were most fertile after a D&C. I had one after a miscarriage and ignored the advice to wait a couple of months before trying to conceive again and did have a successful pregnancy. Best of luck to you whatever.

Sorry for your loss op. I had ds at 43 but mc at 8 weeks at 44. Thinning of the uterine lining is an issue over 40 so worth researching how you can thicken it - lots of info online.
Good luck on your journey.

Try acupuncture - it worked wonders for me -had my daughter in my forties after years of ttc and a m/c.

So sorry for your loss Op.Flowers

Your underactive thyroid, is it well controlled?
I would go to your GP ASAP. Vet your bloods done etc.
You dont have time to waste.

Good luck.

Yes try supplements - I used high concentration evening primrose oil and Angus castus for my problems which helped me so do some research and see what you can find out

Sorry to hear of your loss OP Flowers.

I was getting pregnant naturally, at least every year, from 43 until I was 48 (2 years ago), lost them all before 12 weeks, but I do remember that absolute despair of trying to 'find' something that would help. Supplements, treatments, anything at all - whereas what really stuck in my mind was an obstetrician saying to me, 'if you can cope emotionally, just keep trying - there is nothing magic, just keep trying.'

So, I did (and eventually found out there was something wrong and the kids I already had were an absolute miracle!), but his words have stayed with me.

There is some research into links between coeliac disease and miscarriage though - that is one thing I'd say was worth checking.

Good luck!
