Hello, I'm hoping I'm in the right section to see if there is any help/advice out there with regards to Stroud and what it has to offer for our small family?!

We are thinking of moving from the very lovely fun packed Bristol which have lived in for 8 years. My husband has worked in Stonehouse for the past 7 years, so are looking to move to Stroud to help with the commute and therefore he can spend more time with our daughter. But it's a big step as my daughter (3.5years) and I know not one person in Stroud...eek.

If there is anyone that has moved to Stroud resently (or not resently) I would be so very greatful for their thoughts on the area and what there is to do with my little one/schools.
We started house hunting this weekend just gone..
Looking forward to any replies.

Thank you, Lucy.

Hi Moosa, thank you for the reply. If I'm honest I'm not how to post on the local site. Took me all morning to to work out how to post this. Not sure if it's because I'm using my phone and not the computer?!

Hi GoldFishFingerz

Thank you for posting about the school. It's nice to have some local tips. I know Stratford park is great, but is there anymore parks in Stroud area?

Lucy.

I think there's 3 small ones in Chalford area. The one at the bottom of the hill is great for paddling and cake at lavender bake house.

There are quite a few other small ones dotted around though.

What are you wanting in a house and what's your budget?

My daughter and I visited Stroud this week for the day and found Stratford Park and also a little one on Slad road. I guess we'll find the other little ones if we decide the move is what's right.

We are fairly open to the next house, just as long as it has a good family space and good sized garden. But I guess also local to things, as I used to doing a lot of walking, to and from places here in Bristol.

The centre of Stroud is a bit mixed but there are amazing places to live just outside.
