Hi I'm new to this. Not too sure how mumsnet works but I need some friendly advice so here goes. I have recieved a letter from DWP saying its a notice of local compliance telephone interview. I read through the letter which spoke about wanting to go though my benefits to see if there had been any changes. Still baffled I phoned the number on the letter. Man on the line sounded busy. I asked him what it was about. He said he needs to do a telephone interview to go through my benefits with me. I said I've never had this before. He said normally something triggers this. I said like what. He said normally an allegation or something. I asked him what sort of allegation. He asked my name and looked for my file. He said an allegation had been made that I had a partner living with me. I said that's not true why would somebody say that. He said I don't know that's why I have to do this interview with you. It's normally done face to face but because he is from another area not local to mine he is doing it over the phone. I'm expecting the call on the 4th of July anytime between 10am and 3pm. I am shocked and angry. I suffer with anxiety. I can't sleep or eat. I am a full time carer to my child who has special needs and I really just don't need this added stress. I have a boyfriend not a partner. He does not live with me. He is not the father of my child. He does not pay my bills. I assume some one has done this malishously. And now I feel like I'm guilty when I'm not and I'm in a right state. Please help!

Calm calm calm. If your boyfriend does not live with you then all will be fine. What do you normally do to reduce your anxiety?

Well if I'm having a panic attack I try to sit down and take deep breaths. Other than that I try to do something to take my mind of it like baking which seems to calm me. I feel like I probably sound ridiculous now but that's what I do. I'm just so upset over this. I have my daughter to think about in all this. If any of my money gets stopped we would be homeless. I know I prob sound extreme but I'm a worrier and googling things has made it worse.

Hi Blondie
Please be calm. Good luck with your interview, it will go fine coz you aren't in the wrong. And please, a word of caution- never Google things when you are anxious- it does make things much worse. I had a doctor warn me against googling (when I was suffering from anxiety attacks at one point). I now never ever Google anything that I'm worrying about. You will be fine on the 4 July. smile
