Last night (I was clothed!) my darling two year old pointed to his willy, then said, "Mummy Willy", and I said, "no (!), Mummy has a Fanny"... and to my astonishment, my DH hates the word 'Fanny'!!! Ho hum.

What do you call 'it' to inquisitive children. Am also expecting DD anytime, and obviously DS is going to see me change her a millions times.

I honestly can't remember what my Mum referred to as mine.

Bits! Sorry, very dull!

Newbarnsleygirl Thu 12-May-05 16:35:49

I would say bits too.

As daft as it sounds I couldn't bring myself to teach dd to call it anything else.

WigWamBam Thu 12-May-05 16:35:53

I just call them her bits. She's almost 4 now, and has been asking me where babies come from, so she now knows the proper name, but still calls them "bits".

Louise1980 Thu 12-May-05 16:36:20

My mum called mine a toushie or toushe? anyway its pronounced toow she. But my boys call mine a foof/ fouf?

My friend and me argue over spellings all the time!!!
I absolutely hate 'front bottom'

Preggars Thu 12-May-05 16:36:20

I thought bits too. (it's kind of lack of though isn't it!).

Preggars Thu 12-May-05 16:37:36

One of my Mum's best friends used to refer to 'it' as the 'horses nose'.

It still cracks me up hearing that.

But, serious suggestions only please.

We have bits too.

Preggars Thu 12-May-05 16:39:23

True. Girls Bits then seems like a firm favorite so far.

Weve had the word noony in our family for donkeys, thats what I use !!!Now I will quietly go hide under a stone with sheer embaressment !!!

WigWamBam Thu 12-May-05 16:41:26

My friend's surname is Nooney, better not tell her about this, Melsy

happymerryberries Thu 12-May-05 16:41:30

Can't stand front bottom!

WigWamBam Thu 12-May-05 16:42:07

My mother always called it "front bottom", it really makes me cringe. And poo was "big wee" ... so twee.

lunavix Thu 12-May-05 16:42:11

dyzzidi Thu 12-May-05 16:43:13

happymerryberries Thu 12-May-05 16:43:33

I know, cringeworthy isn't it. Hand on heart, I have never, ever, ever used those terms with my dd.

nutcracker Thu 12-May-05 16:45:35

My dd2 calls her a Fairy Toogle

Dd1 said she is calling hers a Mary

Dd2 rang my dad the other day just to ask him what mommy used to call her bits, i heard him say what down the other end of the room

feelingold Thu 12-May-05 16:59:19

We just say boys have a willy and girls have a mary.

sallycinnamon Thu 12-May-05 19:53:53

We call girls bits their tuppence!!! Absolutely no idea why apart from thats what my dear old ma used to call mine. Can't believe I've just shared that with the whole world! Sounds cute thought doesn't it?!

Preggars Thu 12-May-05 20:07:01

Cute. Keeps in with the "spending a penny" theme too!

darlingbud Thu 12-May-05 20:15:33

wee wee bottom and poo poo bottom.

daddy has a willy.

wavingordrowning Fri 13-May-05 19:44:25

After extensive research, we decided on...wizzle. Which seemed to go rather nicely with willy and didn't seem too twee. Unfortuntately we have since discovered that there is a wizzle (not of the front bottom variety) on Dora the Explorer and in Winnie the Pooh which is causing some confusion!
