My dimwit DH and the fleece wrap

DH is putting DD to bed and tonight she is in her fleece wrap, which for various reasons he has never used before.
He has just shouted down the stairs for a 'normal' wrap as 'this one's complete crap, it won't stay done up'

Get upstairs, DD is lying there looking really confused, and DH announces 'the velcro keeps sticking to the nappy, this is defective, send it back'

He is trying to do the sodding thing up inside out....

I fix it and DD says 'oh, dada....'

Cue much sniggering and a red faced DH...

LOL! Reminds me of my dh-he can't get to grips with nappies with fleece inners going fleece side in and fleece wraps going on the outside

LOL at upside down sling, DH has never tried putting DD in a sling after he nearly throttled himself getting a wilkinet off.

If I am out for the day I always put DD into disposables, he can work cloth if he has to but can't work out what to do with poo so he folds up the nappy, puts it in a nappy sack (!) and then leaves it in the back hallway for me to deal with 8 hours later.....

lol at cg dd

my dd says things similar to that too, (bearing in mind she only 2)

don't do that, i said i do it!

It was the expression on her face that killed me. Our traditional bedtime game is her undoing the wrap while I do it up again and try and get her PJ's on over it. Well, obviously it wasn't working with DH so she just lay there with a
'My father's a complete moron, why haven't I been made aware of this before' look on her face...
big despairing sigh
'Oh, dada....'

Fortunately my DH has mastered the washable nappy and all the related stuff; wraps, fleece liners etc.

He does have a severe problem when it comes to getting DS dressed in the morning though - he puts DS' vests on back to front, winter clothes on a hot day, clothes that don't fit anymore etc. I usually end up getting DS re-dressed as I am too embarrassed to take him out

at your dh's nappy skills washersaurus. Dh specialises in inside out wraps of all kinds. He also flinches at poppers and baulks at nippas.

After 4 months he can do aplix bamboo, popper meos, and popper fluffles (but they look odd). He has also managed to learn the components of a cloth nappy but is completely flummoxed if faced with a piece of fleece that is differently shaped or coloured from normal.

Also frequently foxed by those pesky vests.

DH can just about cope with aplix bamboozles, except he thinks the aplix needs to meet in the middle so nearly cuts dd in half (he was the same with sposies tho). He is also fine with paper liners, although he doesnt unfold them, just puts them in the nappy as thye come out of the packet so they don't actually catch much poo. wraps are ok as long as aplix but again he makes the aplix meet in the middle. Anything with fleece completely flummoxes him though!
