Help - cheap newborn nappies anyone?

My beautiful LO is pooing after every breastfeed and obviously needs changing every time or nappy rash comes along. I am getting through about 15+ nappies every 24 hours and fast running out of money!!!

Can anyone help, please, to find cheap nappies that don't leak for this size (newborn or size 3)? I am using Huggies but they do leak. One night I used one of my toddler's nappies (size 4) and this held more water but obviously was abit cumbersome on a newborn so not ideal.

I would probably be prepared to try reusable nappies but in the meantime I do need cheap disposables - anyone?

Manda472 that is a fab price - if no Aldi in NI do you think I can buy them online?

Asda's Little Angels ones are good.

Asda - better than branded ime. Unless your baby has fat legs Huggies leak like a mofo (had a skinny legged baby & now have a roly poly smile )

Had no problems with asda little angels nappies, are they the huggies pure ones you are using? If so, I found them awful too.

I don't think they do online shopping. What about tesco own brand newborn nappies- just as good as pampers

Sainsbury Basics are good.

I've always used Wilkinson, Morrisons or superdrug own - just under £4 and the amount varies depending on the size. I think the newborn ones have about 28 in. They're really good, I've only ever bought huggies or pampers when they've had really good offers on and the only time we've had leaks is when it was time to go up a size or they weren't done up properly

rhubarb yes they are always leaking!

Manda I tried to get Tescos own but online they are only doing two sizes at the mo - no newborn ones? Will check out in store.

Lots of good suggestions thank you! I need to economize drastically here or nappy prices will mean we're living off baked beans on toast every night!!

Maybe it's different in NI but just looked and they are £2.57 for 24 size 1.
I wonder why u cant order them

bellarose2011 Sun 29-Jul-12 17:16:20

kiddicare do huge boxes for £20, the newborn ones are great but when you go up to size 4 they change and aren't as good. but tesco's are just as good.

Manda weird, I definitely can't see them online - if not too much trouble could you send me a link? As I do shop with tescos so would be handy if they have them. But I have just searched and nothing coming up in smaller sizes

Good luck with the search for cheap nappies, such a shame u don't have an aldi. My dd was the same re the poo'ing and even poo'd when she was feeding!
