wasn't the biggest fan, but admired what he gave to music over the years.

I love this one, know it wasn't his original, but those high notes about 3 minutes in give me the chills.

I was 14 and at his Bad concert in 1988, He sang all the songs exept "The Way You Make Me Feel".....It was the end of the concert!! I blubbed like a typical teenage fan until he came back on and SANG IT!!! Of course I knew in my heart he was singing it for me

It's been my favourite ever since. Gosh this thread is making me cry Didn't get upset at all when I heard, maybe I thought I was too old to still be such a fan lol.

R.I.P Micheal xx

Not sure how I feel about the man but my heart breaks for the boy singing this
no-one can deny the vocal talent required to sing like that.
beautiful voice,
miserable life
and isn't it so often the way.

I wonder if he will have a posthumous Number One single? I'd be surprised if betting isn't already open on it.

Freddie, Lennon and Harrison all managed it within weeks of their death, although Cobain didn't. Although in Lennon's case there was already a single out to buy, and the Queen release was a deliberate one for charity, so we can't complain.

Wonder if the "download age" makes it more or less likely?... La Roux is still expected to go into the charts at no.1 this Sunday with "Bulletproof". I imagine Michael Jackson downloads will result in a "split vote" effect with lots of his songs scattered throughout the charts.

There will be a posthumous Greatest Hits and - well, this is what I'd do - a double-A-side re-release of "Thriller" and "Billie Jean" for whichever charity the family wishes to support.

I've never really been a big fan of his but my mum has always loved his music, so I grew up hearing a lot of his albums. I'm stunned. It's just seems so weird that someone that famous isn't going to be around anymore.

Well said tothesea. Couldn't agree more.

RIP Michael. A flawed genius.

I think we can expect a number one from MJ very soon.

I wasn't a massive fan, never saw him live, didn't even buy an album but don't collect music anyway. There was no denying his hugh talent. Was saddened to see his decline over the years but never knew how much was exaggerated.

RIP Micheal Jackson such a loss to the music industry, hope his legacy lives on.

RIP Michael.

Hopefully the vicious ghouls will stay away from this thread.

I love so many of his songs/albums I just don't know where to start.

i just think he just knew how to make people move. the beat of stuff like billie jean is just infectious so good. pdiddy said something like "he made me realise you could see the beat" . such a genius. (mj, not pdiddy. that is)

Just been playing The Jackson's Triumph album.

Not only was MJ peerless, so were The Jacksons.

I wouldn't have called myself a fan, but I found myself liking quite a few songs. it's more to do with him beng an iconic part of my childhood, IYKWIM.
Think this is an ace cover version though

And the Thriller dances, like the one at the filipino jail always tickled me a lot.
