If you are a MNer in a band, how do you manage it, and what kind of band is it?

Just idle curiosity really.
I am in a couple, but they are very low impact. I would like them to be higher impact but it's very hard - I am very aware that I am a late 30s single mother of 2.

noone then?
I'm sure there is a surfeit of singers, lute players, and other things on MN.

I was about to say "brass band"

I don't think that's what wickerman was meaning

brass band is good, but it's probably easier to get to rehearsals as it is an organised THING

we are just a motley crew of people with very busy lives and getting us all together is very difficult

THAT is what is hard about being old, not particularly that we are too old to be doing music - just that we have kids and parents and RESPONSIBILITIES innit.

I really want to be in a band...can't play for shit though, but I really want to be in a band

I'm gonna be a pushy mum and get my DD into drumming and/or guitar so she can live my dream

I've been in the same band (kinda oddball rock) for 22 years. All 3 of us have kids (drummer has 1, guitar player had 3, I have 2) and it's really difficult to do much at all, but we still manage to gig irregularly and do a bit of recording here and there. It's just part of my life, we're on a 6 month break at the minute on account of the guiter player's latest arrival and I'm really missing it

If anyone's interested we're called Stoat and our website is www.stoatmusic.com
