lulumama Mon 07-Jul-08 19:50:49

wish i was too.

filthymindedvixen Mon 07-Jul-08 20:34:16

ha! The weather forecast is rather monsoony.... Am going to buy a giant fishing brolly tomorrow I reckon

Lulumama - not that far from you...get yourself there!

RustyBear Mon 07-Jul-08 20:37:20

dd is going to Beautiful Days next month -starts the day after A level results are published, so I hope she gets her grades if she's going to disappear for the weekend.

filthymindedvixen Mon 07-Jul-08 20:42:47

Rusty - Beautiful Days is the best festival ever - she will have a blast! Er, she may well never come back grin
Has she been before? I can give her the lowdown if she wants....
(This is the first year in 5 we haven't gone, due to skintness), so we are doing this gig instead!)

RustyBear Mon 07-Jul-08 20:45:40

No she hsn't been before, though she's been to Reading for the last couple of years (but we only live a few miles from Reading)
I'm sure she'd appreciate any tips...

filthymindedvixen Mon 07-Jul-08 21:05:33

ok, top tip - take a fold-up wheelbarrow or trolley thingy as you have to walk for a fair bit up and down hills to camping area (Unless she goes in the family field, but she will get shouted at if she is still partying at 4am wink)

And everyone dresses up (from ballgowns to Inflatable bananas) on Sat night. everyone.

And the Pussy Parlure is great, mad fun and The Bimble Inn is lovely. And the dance tent is where all the young folk will be after the music finishes.

I'm horribly envy

filthymindedvixen Mon 07-Jul-08 21:06:54

oh, and the Levellers usually do an acoustic set in the little big top at 6pm on the Friday which is an awesome, intimate gig experience

RustyBear Mon 07-Jul-08 21:19:05

Thanks fmv - I'll show her this when she gets back from her bf's

daftpunk Mon 07-Jul-08 21:25:12

filthymindedvixen Tue 08-Jul-08 17:18:39

wardrobemistress Tue 08-Jul-08 17:25:46

Pops into thread to ask FMV if she will be wearing shoes to Arley Hall at all?

wardrobemistress Tue 08-Jul-08 17:27:13

I still have the photo somewhere... FilthyFootedHippy!
We will miss you and your fellas like mad this year.

filthymindedvixen Tue 08-Jul-08 18:12:57

I wondered how long it would be before I could tempt you out of hiding grin

We are gutted not to be going to BD, but this is the next best thing...Chumbawumba, Seth Lakeman, 3 Daft Monkeys, Dreadzone (ahoyy!) and...the Levs.

And the forecast is v rainy, as usual so I may well be filthyfootedvixen again.....grin

We will miss you too, and your beautiful big brood of boys!

I have been listening to Seth for 72 hours straight now,his new album is much rock-ier I think.
Underated,Booty Daze all sold out now,but you might get something on ebay nearer the time.
<wipes tears at not dancing ratarsed tipsily to Dirty Davey with FMV this year>

wardrobemistress Tue 08-Jul-08 18:26:41

and I wanted you to teach me how to roll fags this year too.

filthymindedvixen Tue 08-Jul-08 18:26:55

We had a drunken cider-fuelled evening a couple of months ago with some friends and watched chaos theory and were dancing like idots to Dirty Davey...thought of you tooo...

BTW, our canal boat name shortlist included The Beautiful Day, Dirty Davey

and is now going to be The Boatman's Song

wardrobemistress Tue 08-Jul-08 18:27:17

<wails>

wardrobemistress Tue 08-Jul-08 18:28:52

not wailing at your boat names btw.
Wait a minute! You have bought a boat????

UnderRated Tue 08-Jul-08 18:33:36

If it weren't so far, I'd be there sad They don't seem to come to my neck of the woods very often!

<I can roll fags wink>
