Music

Please suggest songs of "today" - my itunes library is at least 15 years out of date

I don't listen to "modern music" myself

Haven't bought an album in ages Blush -do buy the occasional single that I like from itunes.

Get my kicks from absolute 80s (MNHQ disclaimer: other radio stations are available)

But want to make a playlist that is a bit more "party" and won't leave me completely stuck in 1989 Grin

Songs that have been in my mind as at least this decade as a starting point:
Price Tag JessieJ
Starships Nicki Minaj
Love in a hopeless place Rihanna
quite like that 1direction song that was on Strictly last week but only recognised it cos of GrinBlush

Any more in this vein gratefully received.

I'm a massive fan of the Now that's what I call music CDs.

Lots of sings for your money, most are easily recognisable and all of them are radio edits, so safe listening. Ace.

Particular faves are:

Example
Calvin Harris
Laws on Blush

I'll probably be back...

I am currently updating mine by wandering around HMV and Shazaming when they play something I like, which gives me the details plus a link to download it from iTunes.

DD is 13 and on her ipod and, as well as the Now 64774535 type compilations, she has things like Adele, Ed Sheeran and Emili Sande but they are very singer/songwriter-y IYSWIM so maybe not what you want if you want something a bit 'party'.
