Oh he's wonderful. I was just enthusing about the effect his voice has on me, over on another thread.

He's got a new album out soon too!

I agree. His voice touches your soul, so, so good.

I'll definitely be purchasing his new album and everything else he's done. Going to watch out for him touring too, would love to see him live.

I think I'm a bit in love with him actually.

Check out Gutter Twins if you've not already. "Idle Hands" particularly. You can find it on youtube for a taster.

And all his work with QOTSA. Saw them years back, and didn't know who he was - then I heard him and oh.....

I LOVE Mark Lanegan, used to listen to Screaming Trees constantly when I was at uni; I really should catch up with his more recent stuff

I love him, discovered him through QOTSA, he's going to sing again on their new album. Saw him in Dublin over ten years ago, he has fab stage presence.

Just listened to "Idle Hands". Bloody amazing, but then everything I've listened to is bloody amazing.
I can't stop listening to "Hit the city" with PJ Harvey..aarrrghhh! So good!

Pelvic, yeah I remember The screaming trees but for some unfathomable reason Mark Lanegan didn't register with me. You should catch up with some of his stuff you'll love it.

Freddie I especially love the stuff he did with QOTSA. Again, I really like QOTSA but why oh why did I not notice this amazing man? Would really love to see him live.

If you liked that, Blaaah check out 'Come on over (turn me on)' - Isobel Cambell & Mr L.

Then get into a nice cold shower!

Just listened to "Kingdoms of rain" with headphones on drownangels. God, shivers and goosebumps.

I must have listened to about eighty of his songs and there's many, many more.
I'm loving all these suggestions, thanks everyone.

It's good to have somewhere to share my obsession!

Yes I "found" him last year - no idea how I'd missed him before as I love QOTSA too.
DP is also now a big fan, which is good cos he buys all the albums and I nick them.

Have you heard his stuff with Isobel Campbell?

I saw him at Reading Festival last year. He was amazing but because he's not well known with the youf of today the marquee was empty. Such a shame, I felt he was unappreciated. Any recommendations on where to start with his back catalogue?

Pd Since my obsession began just over a month ago I have listened to so much of his music, but the stuff with Isobel Campbell hasn't grabbed me...yet. I'm listening to Hawk as I type and can feel it growing on me.

Egghitionist I really love Bubblegum and Blues Funeral. I think you'd really love these albums. I've been digging around reading articles and watching interviews he's done, finding out more about him makes me love him even more...What a man..

If you haven't already, check out 'Sweet Oblivion' and 'Dust' by Screaming Trees. 'Sweet Oblivion' is the most underrated rock album of the 90s.

Just listened to it PaleHousewife. I really like it, Josh Homme can do no wrong in my eyes, he's a bit of a genius I think.

I was having a look at who's making guest appearances on the album. Obviously our very own Mark, but amongst others, Elton John!

Really looking forward to hearing the full album.
