Help please, running out of time fast and haven´t done the music thing for dh´s 50th party, though f knows I´ve had to do everything else Angry. Looking for a few chillout compilations that I can just leave playing but nothing miserable, obviously, and also anything else that might be good. All ages coming and it will be outside and with the good weather forecast, I have visions of a balmy evening with everyone looking happy and beautiful music wafting through the garden. Yes, I know, but I can dream, can´t I?

I like this as a compilation Bar Culture.

I don't think it would be too modern but it's possible I suppose; in terms of music he'd be a child of the 70s and 80s in the main? It has a few great oldies and some funky numbers.

You could obviously do worse then a few quality Best Ofs. Best of The Who, Talking Heads, T-Rex, The Smiths, Pink Floyd presumably would be cool.

This is also a top compilation from the early 80s era Sound of the Suburbs.

I also own and rate highly all of the following as general compilation albums; they mainly cover the 80s and 90s eras:

'The Album'
Unbelievable
Unbelieveable Vol.2 (more dance/grunge than the first volume

The latter albums aren't really chillout... sorry. Bar Culture though is pretty relaxed with a bit of oomph. It's kind of wine bar vibe (as the name suggests). It has 'Rapture' by Blondie on it... one of my all time favourites.

Just thought; 'Forever Changes' by Love is a great album and pretty soothing.
