I think I may have Asperger, what to do next?

Hello, please be patient with me, I'm not an English native speaker, so please excuse any possible grammar mistakes.😰
It's been a couple days since I found an article about Asperger syndrome. I was amazed how much this suits on me, it literally described me very well and explain a lot. Since that I did some online tests and read a lot of articles about it and now I'm almost convinced that I may have Asperger syndrome. I'm very shaken about it, but on the other side it's kinda relief to know that there may be some explanation and reasons for a lot of things in my life.
My question is what should I do next? Go to GP? What should I tell them? I'm scared that they'll think that I'm just simply overreacting...😔

Hiya, yes, go to your gp if you can, maybe take the article you mentioned and show how you fit that profile. Some people do tests you can find online and take those as evidence... try googling adult autism assessment for your area and you may find an organisation that supports people in your position and explains the process because it's different in different areas, some areas don't even have funding to carry out assessments for adults. If you're under secondary mh care or have a learning disability then you need to go through the mh or ld team rather than gp, hope that helps.

Search for the AQ-10 test online and take the completed test and your score with you. The AQ-10 test is used by the nhs to indicate the need for referral. I believe, acoording to the NICE guidelines, if you score above 6 on this test they should refer you.
