MNHQ is seeking Mumsnetters' views on a possible campaign. It's a one-question survey, although there is some background for you to read if you're not familiar with the issue being discussed.

The survey is open to all Mumsnet users.

Here's the link: //www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HGSXWMD

thanks

It is one question...and some info about yourself- age etc.

Report
specialsubject · 23/12/2016 15:11

so it is many questions. Age, ethnicity, how many kids and so on. All of which are of course entirely relevant to opinions...not...

sod that. Survey ignored.

Thank you MN. I'll be interested to see the results.

Ethnicity?

I may have missed that one

Report
BIWI · 23/12/2016 15:27

Ethnicity isn't asked.

And the questions that are, are standard demographic questions so that MNHQ can analyse responses.

You're being a bit daft here, specialsubject. They're hardly onerous, and they're questions you'd be asked on any market research survey.

Done.

Done - agreed, there is one actual survey question and then a bunch of demographic questions that you see on every survey. But I think MN should amend their original post to be clear. The entire survey takes less than one minute to complete.

Done. Very simple and I didn't find the questions intrusive

Done, an absurd situation for the women of N.I., let's hope it gets rectified so that they have the same freedom that we have.

@TeaPleaseLouise

MNHQ @AnnMumsnet
I would be really interested to know how many people who suggested this were based outside Northern Ireland? And what the overall response from women in NI was?

Do the people suggesting this know that it's unlikely to ever happen here due to the ability to use a petition of concern in Stormont to block laws?

I'm in NI and really disappointed by this, sure it sounds fantastic but our politicians are unlikely to be swayed by pressure from mumsnet (no slight intended) and even if we got to the wonderful stage of a majority in Stormont willing to vote to change the law, it would be blocked by a petition of concern... So nothing would change.

I honestly think that the original idea was the best chance at gaining control over your own body if you can't afford the costs of flying to England currently and have missed the chance to get pills posted to you.

I know some mumsnetters were concerned at the idea of the cash strapped NHS paying for women's flights and accommodation but in other cases of medical need this already happens if treatment is not available within NI.

Hi TeaPleaseLouise,

Thanks for posting. We'll take a look at your questions and get back to you as soon as we can; it may now be next week, as a couple of people involved are off for the Christmas break.

Thanks

Oh fgs sake those questions were standard information seeking questions about demographics.

Was it terribly onerous to determine what age and sex you are, where you live and how many children you have?

no - the issue is Lass, that it states "one question" so thats what i expect to answer, the other 5 i was not expecting - and you cant 'sell' a questionaire with one question when there are 6
