We're interested in finding out at which stages in your child's life you have found yourself spending the most, and whether or not you expected to do so at that point. We also want to know what sorts of things you've spent the most amount of money on.

The survey is quickish and if you add your details at the end you will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £50 (can be spent in pretty much whatever store you like!)

Please tell us by filling in this survey.

Many thanks!

This is familiar. Wasn't this survey up a week or so ago?

Darn, I'd thought this was especially for one child families.

It's very difficult to estimate the amount of money you're spent over a period of several years just on your child!

I honestly can't fill that in. I have no idea of how much we spent at any stage of dd's life. How are we meant to divvy it up? Is it how much we spent in total, or how much we spent on dd? How much did we spend on nappies in the time we had to buy them - I have NO CLUE. I would have to make it all up!

I tried to fill it in but had to give up.

I agree with everyone else. It's too difficult to work out how much we've spent over the years and what we've bought.

Problem is that with each child the answers change; the second child costs less than the first as you will likely have cot, pushchair, highchair etc. already.
Not sure if this is to be only about the first?

I've tried to fill this in but I'd either have to just make stuff up or go and dig out some bank statements from the last 4 years. I'm imagining you're going to get a whole load of made up answers here

Another one who gave up. None makes sense. Too rigid. Not realistic.

Agree with all of the above. I would love to actually know the exact answers though! Once the kids are all grown up and off to Uni I may sit with all my boxes of receipts and bank statements and find out. Damn, wish I'd kept up with the excel spreadsheets I started......

Couldn't fill this in if you gave me £50 on the spot. Sorry.

Me too! Gave up completing it, and though I am not wrecking my brains for "possibly" £50!

HexBramble · 09/10/2016 16:45

Done. It IS an estimated amount MN.

£50 is handy!

Really?
I find it had to imagine anyone could give useful answers to that survey.
Sorry, gave up.
